I was getting interference, and sometimes even dropping connection to Promark P70, (aka Syma X8), Drone quite often. Enough that I wanted to do this modification to the drone and the transmitter immediately before anything else happens to it. I made sure to rerun some tests over and over. And in the end it was as successful as I can get it with what's here. I added a boomerang shaped extension to the drone's existing antenna. At first, I was going to replace it entirely. but after running with it, and the materials I had immediately on hand, I went with stranded line in a V-shaped pattern in the front of the chassis.
For the transmitter, I swapped the 3 inch wire inside for a female to male TNC connector I had on a Linksys WR54T router I wasn't going to use again. So the antenna wire was a little thicker upon observation. But it's braided and it's size is deceiving. So it ends up being perfect. Once done, I rerouted and modded the top for the antenna. Good thing, because when the antenna was pointed out or down, it worked but I had some loss in the upper air space. Obviously I know the signal pattern and the vector direction of 75 degrees from the tip of the antenna. But it works when it's not upside down. That was just a quick decision at first to get the mod down. Also, I have taken it out further now and I am very happy with the end results. Connection stays, better reaction time with the drone, and I feel more secure taken out the Non-GPS quadcopter.
