The rain and wind finally abated long enough (if only briefly) for me to take out the Eachine Falcon 250 from Banggood.com http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-Falcon-250-FPV-Quadcopter-with-FlySky-i6-2_4G-Remote-Control-5_8G-HD-Camera-RTF-p-1026335.html?p=GD11077650102014093V for a quick test flight. The setup and configuration is completely stock.
This is the result!
In general I was really impressed that the EF250 flew so well straight out to the box. As I wasn't entirely sure how it was going to behave, I used my FPV monitor rather than goggles in case I needed to quickly switch to LOS flying. My monitor is the Eachine LCD5802S 5802 5.8G 32CH 7 Inch Diversity Receiver Monitor with Build-in Receiver Battery http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-LCD5802S-5_8G-32CH-Diversity-Receiver-Monitor-7-Inch-with-Build-in-Receiver-Battery-p-993668.html?p=GD11077650102014093V again acquired from Banggood.com. Banggood are now selling the Eachine LCD5802D 5802 5.8G 40CH 7 Inch FPV Monitor with DVR Build-in Battery http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-LCD5802D-5802-5_8G-40CH-7-Inch-FPV-Monitor-with-DVR-Build-in-Battery-p-1029504.html?p=GD11077650102014093V as a successor to the LCD5802S monitor but now with added DVR. If you're buying a monitor then I would highly recommend this updated version.
The battery used for this flight was the stock Eachine 1500mAh 35C pack. The EF250 will take a 4S battery with ease. I'll be testing 4S performance in due course but for now the 3S is going to give me plenty of performance for charging in and out of the trees.
There are more videos to follow including a full 'getting started guide' once I've had time to edit them. But I thought I'd get this one out quickly as so many people are interested to see how the EF250 performs. If you want more information about this exciting, new and accomplished RTF racing quad, head to http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2550378 and join the discussion. The first really useful and relevant information starts on page 9 with the delivery of this EF250 http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-Falcon-250-FPV-Quadcopter-with-FlySky-i6-2_4G-Remote-Control-5_8G-HD-Camera-RTF-p-1026335.html?p=GD11077650102014093V.
Banggood are also now selling an ARF version of the EF250 which is perfect for those flyers that already have radio gear http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-Falcon-250-FPV-Quadcopter-with-5_8G-32CH-HD-Camera-BNF-p-1028897.html?p=GD11077650102014093V.
Many thanks to Banggood http://www.banggood.comhttp://www.banggood.com/?p=GD11077650102014093V for providing the Eachine Falcon 250 to me for testing.
