EasyRaceLaptTimer is an open source IR timing system created by Alexander Bierbrauer. The system was designed as a low cost alternative to commercial systems for FPV drone (multirotor) racing.
The base station which hosts the management website, can be built for about $75, including the Raspberry Pi 2 and USB WiFi adapter.
Race transponders, which are mounted on the aircraft, can be built for about $3 in parts.
