On August 24th, 2013 Buffalo's Chicken Shack of Wood Ridge, NJ hosted its Fourth Annual "Spicy Wing Challenge" eating contest. The challenge is not only a test of speed, but endurance, as it measures the contestants ability to endure a spicy buffalo sauce that measures at more than 855,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units, which measures the degree of capsaicin thus the spice or heat, a jalapeño is between 3,500 and 8,000 SHU and the Habanero is 100,000 SHU). The Sauce, which is made at Buffalo Chicken Shack is known aptly named "NUMB YA FACE."
Challengers had seven minutes to eat as many jumbo Buffalo Wings that are covered in "NUMB YOUR FACE" spicy Buffalo sauce. They were required to eat spicy wings without any breaks in between for any additional food, drink, blue cheese or any other food or drink substance.
