Echoes was originally called “Interlude” and written in 2017 for piano and string quartet. The name “Interlude” was not so much the name of the piece, but rather the function it played whilst I was writing more repertoire to upload to my YouTube channel. Two years down the line, and with many new compositions uploaded since, I have given it the name “Echoes” in response to the melodic structure (each phrase begins with the same repeated-note motif).
