Conditional Drop: Raptor Talon – There is no requirement for this; it merely has a low percent chance of dropping.
Note: The weapon you get for this boss’ regular drop gives you a sword that inflicts Leg Bind, which is helpful for farming Raptor Claws from the Raging Raptors of the third land; that drop turns into the full revive item of the game, which will be helpful down the line. The Conditional is part of what you need to make the class-specific armor for the Fortress.
In the Dark: Single-target Pierce attack that deals high damage and can inflict Blind.
Binding Feather: Single-target Pierce attack that deals high damage and can inflict all three binds.
Eagle Dive: Line-target Bash attack that deals high damage.
Feather Rain: Random, multi-target Pierce attack that deals high damage. Hraesvelgr seems to use this skill when its HP reaches a low threshold.
This is a very interesting Bonus Boss. Hraesvelgr is a boss whom you don’t have to wait the traditional 14 in-game days to respawn. You need only solve the puzzle that summons it. This provides you with a fairly simple battle that gives nice rewards and has “The End of the Raging Winds” playing whenever you want. OK, maybe that last part was subjective, but I’m sticking to the claim. Being able to summon this boss whenever you wish makes me think back to how the Sea Quest bosses of EO3 worked the same way.
As for the encounter itself, Hraesvelgr hits with a great deal of force. However, Arm Bind stops Feather Rain, which is easily its most dangerous attack, as well as Binding Feather, which could potentially shut down the one party member you need the most.
If you wish to farm the Conditional Drop of this boss, I recommend bringing in a Sniper who has maxed out Scavenger. I can’t say I know if that passive stacks if multiple party members have it, but I’d be quite grateful if someone could inform me of such.
