Things I would have mentioned if I wasn't trying to keep the video short:
* The app is constantly improving, with significant new features being added every week
* The search function is brilliant, including the ability to search by date
* Public channels and huge groups
* Stickers!
* For added security you can enable 2 factor verification for logging in
* Telegram's client software is open source. It has an open API so things like third party clients and bot integration are a piece of cake
If your #1 most important concern in a messaging app is security, use Signal. It's what guys like Snowden and Assange use. Personally I don't find it as feature-rich and rapidly developed as Telegram, so even though there are hypothetical concerns about Telegram because they created their own encryption protocol, for now the threat remains theoretical and nobody's managed to successfully decrypt a message yet, so I'm satisfied.
