Potato curry in typical hotel style for Roti or Chapati :
This is a typical hotel style potato curry preparation, usually this curry is little bit spicy. Seriously this curry is like a hot chocolate when served with nice chapatis. Usually in most of the indian typical hotels or street side restaurants chapati is served with this type of potato curry. Most of us like this curry this is how you can prepare at your home. I bet you get the same taste.
Ingredients:
Boiled Potatoes: 5 to 6
Onions: 2
Oil: 4 table spoons
Green chillies: 2
Red chilli powder: 1 table spoon
Turmeric powder: 1 pinch
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves: Few
Garlic: 4 cloves
Ginger: 1 small inch
Poppy seeds: 1 table spoon
Cumin seeds: 1 table spoon
Cloves: 5
Green cardamom: 5
Cinnamon sticks: 2 small
Direction: In a vessel heat 3 to4 table spoons of oil, fry the onions to the golden brown colour. while the onions are getting fried, blend the spices(cumin seeds, poppy seeds, cloves, garlic, ginger, cinnamon sticks, green cardamom, cloves)into fine paste, very find paste if required add little amount of water while blending. After the onions are nice fried to golden brown colour, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt cook it for 1 minute, then add boiled potatoes, cover the potatoes with water and cook it for 2 mins. After 2 mins of cooking add 1 and half table spoons of blended masala into the potato gravy and cook it for 3 mins more. Adjust the spiciness and salt according to you taste. Now the curry is ready. This is a best potato curry goes nice with chapati.
