Fallout 3
Herzog Mine is a location in Point Lookout. Herzog Mine is set in the rock, to the south of the Ark & Dove Resting Grounds and south of the Coastal Grotto.
The Herzog Mining Site was named after an old man named Herzog, apparently he was the owner of the mining site and forced people to work there without pay or food. If you talk to Kenny (the kid who lives in the mining site) he states that one day the workers just stopped working and sat down. Herzog wasn't very happy when he heard about what they were doing so he blew up the entire site with a "million million pounds" of dynamite according to Kenny. The fact that he blew up the entire site is very unlikely since there is still some mining equipment there, however there is a large amount of collapsed rock with many skeletons visible inside. After he supposedly blew up the site, Kenny says that old man Herzog hung himself.
If you enter the last area of the mining site, you can see a skeleton with a rope around its neck. The skeleton is obviously Herzog, as he is found in front of what appears to be a collapsed portion of mine, with various skeletons in the rubble.
Be careful when you first enter the mining site as there are many traps set up such as tripwires, baseball launchers, explosives, and bear traps. And the only known working camera can be taken from one of the traps
Tripping the 1st trip wire causes 2 intact garden gnomes to fall down in addition to other objects.
You only have access to Kenny's Cave shortcut after either completing the speech check, using Child at Heart, or retrieving Kenny Bear (his Teddy Bear). Here you can store your things and even become Well Rested when the cot is used.
