This past 4th of July weekend my kids and I drove up to Washington State for our annual Family Camping event. We camped for 5 days and 4 nights and a great campground, Peterson Prairie Campground, in Gifford Pinchot National Forest. We stayed at this campsite 3 years ago and we loved it then.
We did a ton of fishing up at Goose Lake which is a 20 minute drive from the campground. My kids had a great time fishing in their grandfathers boat, as did I.
We also hit the local sites with a visit to the Natural Bridges and two visits to the Ice Caves. The Ice Caves are a family favorite and a must visit if you are in the area.
All in all it was a great weekend with time spent together in nature with the family.
