Feed Trico 96 barrels to unlock the Feather Painter. I got it during my third playthrough. Only available after you beat the game. Access "Items" in the Options area of the in game menu. There will be a barrel counter until you gain all items. One of the color settings removes paint from your Trico, its either the bright white or no light setting.
My character was wearing the ICO inspired outfit as well as Wander's clothes from Shadow of the Colossus, which are also unlocked with barrels.
