Functional test of FeiYu Tech MiNi 3D camera gimbal, retrofitted with aluminum pitch and roll motor mounts/sensor housings.
Although the original plastic housings have a sleeker appearance, they were very fragile and prone to breakage. The new aluminum mounts seem to have addressed this issue with a "substance over style" approach.
Retrofitting with the aluminum mounts/housings took about 25 minutes for pitch and roll motors/sensors, and required only standard hand tools. No soldering or additional fabrication or customization was required. This was a simple bolt-on replacement.
NOTE: I have not yet upgraded to the latest FYT firmware. I wanted to do a baseline test before upgrading so I will be able to compare and determine any improvements in the latest firmware.
