On Saturday evening at EXC 2010 I walked out and saw that Fergie Lin was hovering low doing a tail-grab but just about the time I got the camera rolling he landed. The crowd went wild and there were many high-fives from fellow pilots. I caught up with him about 15 minutes after the flight and told him I was sorry I missed it because it would have been fun to film. The plane was about half apart and someone said "Well he could just fly it again!!!" Fergie thought for a second then with a sparkle in his eye said "OK!" His Dad got a surprised look on his face for a second, then calmly started putting the plane back together. I asked if I could strap on a small onboard camera for some wing-cam action and got another enthusiastic "OK!" from Fergie. Since he knew he wasn't going to be in the finals he was ready to throw caution to the wind and have some fun. Fergie is a gracious and skilled pilot with a great sense of humor! Be sure to listen for what he says at the end. We awarded Fergie our "Fly Low" award for XFC 2010. The film of the entire flight is on FlightPass:
