1974 Ferrari Dino GTS
JD Classics have restored numerous Ferrari, and the Dino is a model in which we have a great deal of expertise. This RHD 1974 Ferrari Dino GTS - Finished in Blue Sera with Tan hide and Dark Blue carpets - was subject to a 2 year full JD Classics restoration.
We started with an original unrestored car which had done about 27,000 miles - and although we have seen much worse - the body on this car was ripe for restoration. We undertook a full body restoration on the car - and then a bare metal repaint in the beautiful colour of Blue Sera.
The car was re-trimmed to its original specification - in tan hide - and we were lucky that all the hard-to-find interior parts were still with car for the restoration.
The engine was fully rebuilt in our race engine shop - to standard specification and the car runs superbly.
The only things which were not restored - and needed to be replaced - were the steering rack, wiring loom, suspension bushes and other serviceable items. Other than these items - the car is original and after a 3500 hour restoration is one of the finest examples of a 246 GTS anywhere in the world.
The reality is that this car has been finished to a standard that probably exceeds the condition of the original car when new - but the owner now has a car which drives superbly and befits one of the most beautiful Ferrari body shapes made.
These cars have now reached a value point - where the investment costs of a full restoration is justified.
