Sheldon and Steve reconfigure the Quadcopter with a NAZA-M Lite control board and take it out for its first flight. This is our first flight with NAZA lite
Our pervious Quadcopter configuration used HobbyKings KK2 Board, and we found it to be too unstable for this quad and because we plan to use the Quad for Ariel photography opted for the more expensive NAZA board with GPS.
We found the first flight to be extremely stable, in fact shockingly stable. Using the KK2 Board I was always making course corrections, but with the NAZA -M Lite it was nearly hands free!
We originally had frustrations with setting up and installing the NAZA Assistant software. We discovered when connecting the NAZA to the quad that the software would not see the quad the work around seemed to be installing the original driver and then installing the updated driver for Windows8 (for win8 systems of course)
Note: this seemed to work suddenly and we had access to the software functions but also we change the USB port from USB3 to a standard USB port but not sure what really helped. We also had problems with the Spektrum DX6i controller and using the fail-safe setting, It just would not work maybe a Futaba radio or an eight channel radio with more function dials.
The Quad drifts a little and we think it's because the GPS module center of gravity is not set quite right.
