The stator core was retrived from an old 5 1/4" computer floppy drive spindle motor. The core has been rewound with a double strand of 23 gauge wire. The frame is machined out of aluminum which houses the bearings and shaft. A new rotor, also machined out of aluminum, holds a steel can with high strength neo magnets.
This is being installed into a new 6' Lazy Bee being almost totally made of Walmart foamboard. Target weight of about 5 lbs. Prop is 12" x 8". At this point the wing has not been constructed.
Planning on more videos shortly.
