Practicing more FPV at a nice beach while traveling. It was a bit windy and challenging at times. Sometimes full stick forward to keep the quad moving forward with the wind pushing against it or drifting me sideways... No bigger incidents thought. It was a lot of fun and I'm getting the hang of FPV Quad flying and it is more fun now being able to keep it in the air! The biggest challenge is still the video feed as it often fades and worries me as I have crashed several times because of video feed loss. I have tried to upgrade my gear on the 5.8Ghz side because the gear is nice and small (especially on the quad side where I still expect crashing and don't want to destroy my antenna). It's getting better now but I think for flying low and dodging things (which I am really enjoying) I may need to get an additional setup using 1.3mhz for video because it seems to be much better at low altitudes and around objects.
If you're curious what it looks like to view from the live view stream, here you go. It's not the same exact flight through. http://youtu.be/AoUyeVL4ZJA
Setup:
TBS Discovery
FrySky 2.4 Radio
Go Pro Hero 2 @ 720p
HobbyKing NTM 1200kv motors
Naza Flight Controller + GPS
F-30 SimonK Flashed ESC
8" cheap hobby king props. Wanted Graupner E-Prop 8" but there not available right now and I had these. These props and balancing them actually helped my vibration problem for my video recording using the GoPro along with an anti-vibration pad I found at HobbyKing.
Video: 5.8Ghz: Diversity by EagleTree, crosshair antenna (long range) and Circular Polorized (Omni). Circular Polorized on Quad.
