This is my sixth or so flight with the new EFlite Sport Cub S, fitted with the ReadyMadeRC "Pico Combo" camera and transmitter package, and the SPW antenna. Recorded using my Fatshark Dominator V2's built in DVR.
The wind was varying from calm to five or six MPH at ground leve (I suspect slightly more at altitude from the bits of bobble when I rose above the tops of the houses) but the little Sport Cub handled it very well. The takeoff and landing were handled with the "SAFE" stabilizer engaged, but the bulk of the flight had the stabilizers disengaged for better feel. I'm really enjoying the fixed-wing side of FPV flying, I've only flown briefly with a quad before this. I'm already pondering a larger airframe for more duration, and a more powerful VTX! The transmitter here really blows the ultra-micro one from Spektrum out of the water, by comparison, though. Easily three or four times the range!
I'm definitely having to get used to landing, though. The way the camera is tilted downward from the wing to let me see the nose makes the final approach seem a LOT steeper than it actually is! I touched down with the fuselage level, and it looked like I flew right into the ground!
