Last friday I went for a slightly different drive. The desert between Murqquab and Al Qudra may look easy at first sight but it’s an endless sequence of small and evil techincal dunes in which you REALLY don’t want to go alone. The traps are everywhere… every dune, despite being small, hides a deep and soft wallet in which is easy to get stuck and difficult to be noticed if someone passes a few meters from you. Needless to say that we had a lot of cars stuck and the trip wasn’t the fastest ever, but the great positive side of being in a big group is that you have many chances to socialise during the breaks. Of course, I got stuck too, and in a very stupid way, simply going in the exact place where 2 other cars were stuck before me..!
