Developer Relations. Developer Experience. Call it what you want, but it’s clear that this is a growing practice area at organizations that count developers amongst their customers. And as with any new practice area, sooner or later it becomes necessary to answer the question: are we succeeding? That question is usually followed by its close cousin: what meaningful metrics can we track to help us measure success?
Shaunak has been a Developer Advocate at Rackspace and Elastic. Drawing on his own experiences as well as those of his peers, he have put together a set of metrics that he consider important to our craft. For each metric, he explains why it’s worth tracking and how to avoid any pitfalls. He also demonstrates some of the tools and techniques we use to track these metrics at Elastic.
If you have been grappling with the question of metrics, want to learn how to track them, or have strong opinions on the topic, this talk is for you.
