The Storm is the fourth single off GoodLuck's 'Creatures of The Night' Album to be released in 2013. Five-times SAMA nominated electronic act GoodLuck have been making waves across South Africa and Europe over the passed 2 years and have had 6 hits reach #1 on the South African top40 charts.
The Storm caught us all by surprise... just before the release of Creatures of the Night, we hosted private listening sessions around South Africa for our core fans and nearly all of them had The Storm as their favourite song on the album... we weren't even considering it as a single because it is a very personal and fragile song and sometimes songs like that need to just remain on an album. But with the awesome response to it, we thought we couldn't ignore that it would be good to try and rework it a bit for a single release. So whilst on tour in the UK earlier this year, we sat down in a little studio in London and tweaked it just a little bit - taking it to a new place that we think is just perfect for representing how this year has felt for us... the ups and downs have been pretty extreme to say the least and sometimes it takes a big storm to wash away the old and set us up for the next season of awesome.
This song for us is such a great fusion of African marimbas, paired with London house grooves and Jules, as usual saying exactly what needs to be said, in the most beautiful way...
GoodLuck's new album was recorded outside in the Namibian desert and the documentary THIS MIGHT SOUND CRAZY was launched at Amsterdam Dance Event 2013.
