Just received my SR325e headphones. I was going to wait and let them break in for a couple of days before I listened but curiosity got the better of me. First track I listed to was Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon, Us and Them. My first impression was, these things have great detail and a lot more bass than I have read about. Every instrument had its own space and the vocals came though nice and clear. My next track was Boz Scaggs, DIG, Thanks to you. This track really gives great contrast between Treble, Midrange and Bass. The bass lines are as deep as you'll find on any CD. you can tell that all of the instruments are "digital" but they don't sound cold through the SR325e. I actually have an original pair of Grado SR80 headphones. I played the same track and while it was similar, the SR325e have much more of everything. Bass is more detailed and extended. The midrange is amazing. Crystal clear, warm and always very musical. The treble is never to bright or edgy but always detailed and open.
I may chime in with more after a bit of a break in period but so far I believe I made the right choice. Considerations; HiFi Man HW400S - Audio Technica ATH-M350x - SONY MDR-1A - NAD VISO HP50.
