I know that a lot of people think it would have been better if Dipper was the one in denial.
We (Caramelkeks and I) wanted to show that Dipper wants to grow up (leave the wire) but Mabel doesn't (she wants to stay on the wire).
The wire isn't Gravity Falls here, it's childhood.
And it's very clear now that Mabel is worried about the future... Maybe more than Dipper.
