A quick guide on how to do a basic overclock of your GTX 1080 using the Asus GPU tweak II tool (My personal card is the ROG STRIX GTX 1080 OC edition). This also functions as a brief overview of how to use the GPU tweak II tool.
In GPU tweak I was unable to utilize the voltage as it made the card unstable no matter what I tried; however, in MSI Afterburner I was able to use the voltage and achieved a higher stable clock speed of 2076mhz compared to 2038mhz with GPU tweak... however I scored higher in firestrike with the ASUS (17080) software vs the MSI (16698) software as I was able to clock the memory significantly higher with the Asus software. I would recommend trying both and see which software gives you better results.
Adding voltage functions as basically increasing the clock, but it doesn't show up as a modifier in MHZ, so you have to add voltage and then run a test and see how much of an increaese in MHZ you get from the added voltage. If you have a card that can handle added voltage, you generally want to max it out as it will usually be more stable under overclock... my card couldn't handle it.
