Recipe:
1/2 Cup Oats
1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
Cinnamon (optional)
1 Cup Milk of choice (I used Alpro Unsweetened Almond Milk)
Combine and Microwave for 3-4 minutes (depending on your microwave's power and how you like the consistency of your oats - I do 3 minutes because I don't like mine too dry) stirring at 1 minute intervals
OPTIONAL: Whilst it's microwaving, combine 1 scoop of Vanilla Protein Powder and gradually add a few splashes of your milk in a mug, stirring until it becomes a custard-like texture.
Add this mixture to the oats once they are fully cooked, stir thoroughly until it's all combined and top with whatever you like! I usually do chopped Banana and Maple Syrup :)
This recipe is a good balance of heart healthy fats, protein and carbs to set your day off on a healthy start and help you feel full and satisfied!
