Filmed 09/17/16
Here we are again with another operations video. These ops videos are what everyone seems to like best, so I've been making an effort to get more out. In this video, my Kansas City Eastern GP30-3 pair work a job at the Global Scrap yard in the north end of the Lewiston industrial park. There's also a handful of intermodal and manifest trains going by from various railroads and run through power.
Again, no the GP30s do not have sound in them. In fact, I'm not sure how to even fit it all in without milling down, and losing a lot of the weight. There is literally no room inside. I was barely even able to get the shells to sit properly with the wires for the ditchlights.
These Geeps are one of my favorite sets, but wow, they are a royal pain to do any work on. I'm dreading when the lightbulbs start going out on them. But that will give me an excuse to switch over to LEDs... and YES, at some point in the future, I do want sound in them. Just isn't feasible at the moment.
I would say don't get too used to these Operations videos just because they are so big and take a lot of time to put together. But I filmed another one at the club yesterday, so I should have another in the next week or two. I also have no clue yet what I'm posting on Wednesday... we can all just be surprised together.
Till next time, see you all later!
