I swapped all electronics from a F450 frame to a HobbyKing S500 Pro frame. The flight controller, motors and esc's are about a year and a half old and I decided to upgrade to a frame that has room for FPV and a Turnigy action cam. My setup includes a CC3D flight controller, NTM 28-26 1200kv motors running 8045 props with 4S and 9045 props running 3S and Afro 20A esc's w/bec. Soldered to the power distribution lower plate of the S500 frame. All purchased from Hobby King
The only downside of my swap was the CC3D flight controller I have has top mount pins. The F450 frame has 1.45 inch (37mm) gap between the top and bottom plate and the S500 frame has .74 inch (18.79mm) gap. The flight controller needs closer to .78inch (20mm). So I hung it below the frame between the bottom plate and the dropped battery tray with 30mm spacers. It's a little unheard of but seams to work fine with zero adjustment to the CC3D setup. It is still running the same setup as it was in the F450.
Also added is an EACHINE Ready-to -use FPV 200 setup.
It comes with 32 channel ET200 VTX, 700 TVL camera (148 degree field of view) and ready-to-use balance port power cable (around $35 shipped). I also purchased 2 circular polarized 5.8Ghz antenna from eBay (around $7 shipped)
These parts were picked specifically to be a "Dependable-Budget Build" I have been impressed at the durability of the motors and esc's, the easiest setup and steady performance of the CC3D (running OpenPilot). I'm also impressed with the EACHINE FPV setup with added eBay CP antenna, for a starter kit it won't give impressive range but the image is great for a beginner
