This is my 10s upgraded Taft Cobra.I added a Jetfan with a HET 700-68-1400kv motor and a Castle Ice 120 HV with a Castle BEC Pro for power. I hinged all the control surfaces with Robart hinges, except the flaps which I left alone. I replaced the elevator servos with Hyperion digital metal gears that have 4.8kg of torque. I left the control board for rudder and nose gear steering but I rewired the rest to my AR8000 receiver.
I gave the plane a new paint scheme. I went with a T-45 Centennial scheme. I stripped the plane of the decals and painted it light aircraft gray and covered the wings with yellow film from Hobby king. Decals and markings are made from Monokote trim and sticker sets from Hobbyking.
This flight is using a 4000mh 25c Zippy Compact 8s pack and a 2s 5000mh 25c zippy pack. I trimmed it with the take off flaps down on accident and put them up about 2/3 in to the flight. You can hear the motor pulse as the batteries struggle to deliver power. My good set of Revolectrix were not charged and I wasn't expecting good weather and the cancellation of a meeting to allow me to sneak out for a quick flight. I'm happy with the extra speed and I'm sure she will be much faster with good packs.
