I made this and the only thing I had to purchase was a $5 antenna part from an electronics store, the rest is made from common items that you probably have around the house: wood, wire hangers, screws and washers, copper wire, aluminum foil. We live in the country but the furthest tower that this antenna picks up while mounted in the attic is ABC in Watertown, NY which is about 50 miles south. We also get CBC crystal clear and another PBS station out of NY.
