This is going to be a quick video where I show you how to check a company's dividends. If you don't know what a dividend is, watch my 'What are dividends' video, I'll put the link in the description. So first, let's go to google.com, its .ca for me since I'm in Canada. Then let's click on these little squares in the corner, click more, then click finance. So let's say we want to check the dividend of Apple Inc, so type in the search bar, apple inc, and there it is. Click on it and here we are, at the summary page. Now let's click last 6 months, and there they are, the blue tags with the letter D on them, those mark when the company paid a dividend. So I'll put my mouse on one of them, and on February 6 2014, Apple paid a dividend of $3.05, they also paid this dividend on, let's see, November 6 2013. So let's look at the last 1 year, and as you can see they've been paying their dividends quarterly for the past year.
So just to get some practice, let's look at another company. Let's look at Coca-Cola, so type in their ticker, KO, and here it is. Now that we're at the summary page, let's look at the last 1 year. And look, they recently increased their dividend. So in 2013, it was 28 cents quarterly, and last time they paid a dividend, which was, March 12 2014, they paid 31 cents instead of 28 cents. So you can see how they increased their dividend.
So there it is everyone, how to check dividends. If you liked this tutorial, make sure to subscribe for more. Thank you and goodbye!
