**Materials needed for project. Some items optional:
Pond itself- Rubber pot from ACE hardware. $23.00
(Filter,pot,overflow) combo - Planter pot for a tree - Free
Pump - Quiet One 1200 pump, 296GPH, $18.00- Amazon
Sponge for mechanical filtration- cut to size. Mattress padding.
Biomedia- I am using Lava rubble 1 cubic foot bag - $4.69 Wal Mart or IFA.
PVC fittings -3/4" PVC pipe, 1/2" slip fitting elbow, 1/2" threaded elbow, 3/4" slip to 1/2" threaded coupler reducer, 3/4" cap. - $3.00
Vinyl tubing 1" ODx 3/4" ID. A few feet - $2.00
Sand paper, measuring tape, sharpie marker, scissors, box cutter, zip ties, saw, 3/16th inch drill bit- plus drill, etc...
9" pie tin, used as water tray. Less than a dollar from Wal Mart.
Tupperware containers, used as pots for planting. - $4.00
Screen mesh or some kind of obstruction to put in planting pots. $5.00 for a roll. Can get at Wal Mart.
Super Glue - Loctite gel. $4.00
Heavy duty contractor garbage bags. $5.00 from Wal Mart.
Organic topsoil. Magic Dirt. $6.00 from Wal Mart.
Water lettuce, water hyacinth, and water onion. $20.00 local garden shop.
Bog plants, moss, wood, and rocks. Free.
