NUMBER 1: Pick a game based off of her interest
Do not assume that just because you like call of duty that she is going to like call of duty too. There are too many games out there that you can try of different types to see what fits best. has she ever played games when she was younger and if so what type of games did she play start with finding games that are similar to that and if not ask her what are a few of her favorite movies and why? If she likes films that are strongly story based she may like a strong story based game like maybe the TellTale serie. If she likes Kung Fu movies she may like Mortal Kombat or street fighter. Figure out what she is already into and cater to that.
NUMBER 2: Play co-op
co-op games are great team building exercises. If you play a game against each other that you've been playing for 2 months, she's been playing for 2 minutes and you keep destroying her in the multiplayer over and over again. I'm sure she could get a bit frustrated and she may feel like you're being unfair or even bullying her. instead pick a game that you can tackle objectives together. it'll make her feel like you have her back and you're right there in the game with her and not against her. This can encourage her to play more games and play longer.
NUMBER 3: Take a break
Here's something that you may forget to do but you can't because it can ruin everything. Take a break. Only game in short burst. Look bruh, you've been gaming your whole life and I get that but she is still catching up. People like you and me can pop in a good game and grind it out for 8 or 9 hours. Unfortunately to a noobie she may get tired of playing at a quicker rate and that's what you want to avoid. You want to make sure that you stop playing long before she gets tired. Remeber this is a marathon not a sprint and if she get's worn out this time. the next time you ask her to play her mind is going to instantly think of that and it'll be harder to get her back in the game. you want to make gaming a fun experience over all. Take a break!
NUMBER 4:Make it a date.
This one is fairly easy and complex at the same time. You have to make your gaming time feel like a date. You want your lady to feel a sense of fun when gaming with you. So you want to make it feel similar to going out to maybe a movie. Get some snacks, Maybe popcorn and soda and you could even pair it with dinner with her favorite food before you game. try to make it a time where she feels special. once again its a marathon not a sprint. the happier you make her before during and after gaming time the more willing she will be to play in the future.
NUMBER 5: Schedule a time
Plan a time specifically to play a game together. If you've followed steps 1 through 4 properly step 5 will allow you to build anticipation and excitement for when the both of you can sit down and conquer a game together. the anticipation on it's own will be enough to get her to play with you again and again. The best part about this is over time you can have more frequent times the more she get's use to play. remember guy's it's a marathon not a sprint.
