What you need:
Chorizo Burger Patty Ingredients:
1 LB. Lean Ground Beef
3 Large Chorizo Sausages
4 Buns of Your Choice
1 Egg
1 Tsp. Smoked Paprika & Black Pepper
1 Tbs. Salt
Havarti Cheese (Optional)
Sriracha-Lime Mayo Ingredients:
1 Cup Mayonnaise
1 Lime (Juiced)
1 Tbs. Minced Garlic in Oil
2 Tbs. Sriracha (Rooster Sauce)
Cilantro
Optional Ingredients: Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pickles, Hot Peppers
Instructions:
To make this gourmet burger, you start by slicing open your 3 chorizo sausages, add your ground pork to your mixing bowl and discard the casing. Add in your pound of ground beef, a teaspoon of smoked paprika and black pepper, as well as a tablespoon of salt; roll up your sleeves and incorporate the ingredients together, mix it up well!
Separate your mixture into four equal sized portions (can also be split into 6 simply adjust your cooking time by approximately a minute on each side), form your portions into a ball and from there, begin to flatten out to your desired thickness. Set your patties in the fridge for 20 minutes to firm them up.
To make the sauce for your burger, begin with a cup of mayo in a bowl, add a full lime’s worth of juice, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic in oil and 2 tablespoons of sriracha sauce. Now you’re going to finely chop up some cilantro, enough for a pinch or two and add it to your bowl, mix it up well!
In a greased up sizzling hot pan, cook your burger on the first side for 4 minutes, flip your burger and cook it for an additional 2 minutes before adding a slice of Havarti cheese to the tops of the burgers. Pour a small amount of water into the pan and cover the pan for another minute to get a nice cook through your patty and well melted cheese.
Remove this from the pan and allow to rest for a minute, cook off the excess water and use the remaining fats to toast your bun. Begin to dress your buns with a generous portion of the sriracha lime sauce and whatever toppings you choose to make your ultimate burger.
Be prepared for requests on how to make everyone’s new favorite burger! This burger recipe would make Gordan Ramsey and Betty Crocker very happy!
