MMM 46 - Behold the glory of an organized silverware drawer!
I have been putting off this project for almost three years now for no good reason. Here I have these lovely arts & crafts style drawers that are deep and long, and I'm haphazardly throwing in silverware and utensils! It pleases me to no end have finally made a drawer organizer.
This project consists of a base made from scrap 1/2" plywood with dividers made from scrap pine and oak. The front oak dividers I milled down to about 5/16" each. As you can see I cut a curve in the dividers so that our hands could more easily access the utensils.
The fact that I glued and lacquered the dividers into place tells you that I have no intention of moving them. At first I was going to make it so that I could remove the back dividers, but I realized that the drawer next to where this drawer sits is already full of long utensils, so there was no reason for me to make another space for them to get lost in.
