How i make a cappuccino with an Aeropress:
Cappuccino
2 aeropress scoops of ground coffee, somewhere between really fine to a medium coarse grind.
Heated Water - I bring it to a good boil and ignore the perfect temperature for coffee theory.
I fill it with the boiling water, stir it and let it sit something like the inverted method guide below
I use aeropress inverted method. - see following url http://stumptowncoffee.com/brew-guides/aeropress/
I use an aerolatte frother - fairly cheap on amazon.com
http://www.aerolatte.com/faqs.html
I take ½ cup of Half and Half cream - I like darigold and it does seem that some froth better than others - i put this in a tall coffee mug/cup and heat it in the microwave for 34 seconds - this will of course depend on your microwave. Its kind of tricky finding the right temperature to foam it up thick and have it stay foamy instead of collapsing - temperature and amount of time it sits makes a difference - Perhaps i should read more of the faq above later. - either way i would not microwave your milk until you are ready to go with the other stuff or almost done.
Once you have some nice foam, i like it so thick i could walk on it :), either scoop it off and keep frothing and scooping until its almost all foam, or just get it up to your preference of foamy-ness and dump it in a wide coffee mug - big and wide is best and makes a big difference in the way the coffee tastes (or i am crazy)
I then put 1 packet of raw cane sugar in the foam and stir it all up - so there is a bit of everywhere in the foam. I dump the recently pressed coffee into the foam and then sprinkle an additional packet of raw cane sugar evenly on the top but favor the rim of the mug. The whole idea with the flat mug is that you can have a sip of the espresso which goes through the foam and grabs a few crystals of sugar that land on the tongue with each sip of coffee. If you throw it in a travel mug , or a standard tall mug it just doesn't work. This way i can get all the sweetness of 6 to 8 packets of sugar out of 2 packets. I normally like a lot of sugar in mine.
So anyhow, give it a try this way and see if you like it. Let me know. If you have any improvements let me know as well.
