This video shows how to make a simple funnel trap that works great for catching snakes and other small critters that are on the loose in your house. It only takes about 30min to make one using window screen, staples and paper clips. Work well outside around the perimeter walls of your house too, but be sure to check them often and provide shade so you don't cook your catch. When not in use, open them up so they don't become a death trap for anything that gets in them.
