Baghrir, also known as the “thousand holes pancake”, is a Moroccan traditional recipe for a fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth pancakes.
Cooked only on one side, allowing the yeast in the crepe-like batter to cause hundreds of bubbles to form and break on the top side of each pancake as it cooks. These holes catch the honey butter sauce and absorb it, making your pancake very succulent and super delicious.
Ingredients :
3 cups of fine semolina (400g)
2 tablespoons plain flour (20g)
1 tablespoon caster sugar
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
½ teaspoon salt
½ tablespoon orange blossom water or vanilla extract
4 cups warm water (930 ml)
3 teaspoons baking powder (14g)
