Face shields were designed to protect your entire face from specific light impact hazards like sparks, chemical splashes, or exposure to infectious fluids. What they were not made for is protecting your eyes from high impact hazards, particularly, things like staples, nails, or flying metal fragments. For that level of protection, the only thing that will protect your eyes from potentially irreparable damage is a pair of ANSI Z87.1 approved eyewear
Remember… in order to effectively protect both your face and your eyes from workplace injuries... a face shield alone won’t do… Always double up.
