How To Put On A Traction Pad On Surfboard
To be able to put on a new traction pad on your surfboard, you first need to make sure that all the glue from the old traction pad is completely off of else the new one will not stick on it.
Now figure out if your new stomp pad is a one piece, 2, 3, or 4 pieces. For ours, it is a one piece (which is the easiest to put on since you do not have to worry about multiple pieces not aligning each other).
Take it out of the plastic and put it on the surfboard exactly in the spot you want to put it on. We have not removed the sticker yet. So it is just to see where it would go and how it fits.
Most surfers put the back of the stomp pad as close as possible to the leash plug. So put it there.
Now that you like it where you placed it, remove the film protecting the glue one step at a time. As you are sticking the stomp pad at the back you are pulling the paper off and pushing the traction pad down so that ti sticks well.
Do that very slowly all the way to the end.
* If you have a multiple piece stomp pad, put the biggest part first or the middle part first and work your way to the sides.
