The most common question I get about Guild Wars 2 is "how do I level fast?" I think this question comes from gamers who are used to the way other MMOs work. "Hit max level, then play the real game."
Guild Wars 2 isn't like this, or at least nearly not to the same degree of other games. The leveling process isn't some grind at the end of which you get to have fun.
That said, there are a few ways to level that are a bit faster than others, so if you're finding your leveling curve slow, here's a few alternate suggestions.
(00:05) Experience Scrolls and Tomes of Knowledge are your friend! If you're on your first character, you may not have a ton of these, but you get them from login rewards and sometimes from dailies, so keep your eyes open.
Make sure to check the reward on each of the dailies, and if you see a Tome of Knowlege, go for it! It gives a full level.
(00:11) Crafting is the traditional method to speed level. Make sure to use a booster and a good guide like you can find at www.gw2crafts.net. The cost per level is pretty high, though, so for most newer players this is only an option for a few levels here and there.
(00:20) The best way to grind your levels is Edge of the Mists. EOTM is a WvW-like experience that is run as a gigantic karma train - running around in circles capturing structures for experience and karma, usually with very little fighting. This is something you can probably do while watching Netflix or browsing Reddit, so that makes it a favorite for many players. Remember your experience boosters!
(00:33) sPvP is a very under-respected way to level. sPvP puts you on a gear-equalized playing field with other players, so you're not at a disadvantage with level 80s. The reward tracks give Tomes of Knowledge at a pretty good rate, too! This means you level while not having to feel like you're doing "before 80" content.
(00:45) Seriously, though, rushing to 80 on your first couple characters is a bad move. Enjoy your time leveling! This game has a ton of great content that you should immerse yourself in!
