WHY USE THE WINDOWS 95 VERSION OVER THE DOS VERSION?
- Better resolution (useful if you want SC2K to occupy your entire screen)
- Moveable windows (toolbar, budget, etc.)
- additional speed (African Swallow) and zoom option
- cheats, if you feel like doing so lmao
- DOSBox might run on a potato, but for some reason it doesn't, this one does not use any emulation at all, so this might be a solution for you
THIS REQUIRES THE WINDOWS 95 VERSION OF SIMCITY 2000 TO WORK. ORIGIN AND GAME PASS VERSIONS ARE DOS ONLY.
IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANIMATION, ENABLE 256 COLOR MODE.
- Find SimCity 2000 → Properties → Compatibility tab → Tick "Reduced color mode" → Select 8-bit (256 color) on dropdown menu
