How to Stop Snoring Fast - VitaLife Show Episode 270
In today's episode Dr. Janine Bowring, ND shares with us how to stop snoring and ways to naturally stop snoring easily.
When you snore, it decreases the oxygenation that supplies your organs, our organs repair when we sleep and proper oxygenation is important. Fat cells, when we are sleeping we secrete our growth hormone, we want to make sure we are getting a good supply of oxygen to help burn fat as well.
Tip#1- Do not eat too much, eating close to bedtime causes snoring
Tip#2-Do not drink alcohol too much, drinking close to bedtime increases snoring
Tip#3- Try not to sleep on your back, when you lay on your back it closes off your airways and promotes snoring. Lay on your side with a good quality pillow to cradle your neck and one in-between your legs to elevate your lumbar.
Tip#4- Eucalyptus essential oil, mixed with a bit of coconut oil under your nose and on your chest helps to open up your airways.
Tip#5- Smoking, try not to smoke, but even more so try not to smoke close to bed time, which can obstruct the airways and cause mucus and phlegm.
Tip#6- Chamomile tea, with a bit of natural honey, honey helps to break up mucus and chamomile tea helps to relax your nervous system.
Last but not least tip#7, acupuncture points, along the large intestine meridian. Especially if you had a large meal before bed, stimulating the large intestine and digestion are great to help with snoring. The points LI 19 and LI 20, located right beside the out side edges of your nose there is a bit of an indentation, you can rub those points. This will help to open up the sinus and your airways.
