The HP TouchPad Ubuntu upgrades nicely from 11.10 to 12.04 with my new custom kernel. I've been following the freedreno project which aims to create a complete X driver for the Qualcomm Adreno GPU that is in all Snapdragon-based devices including the TouchPad. The current driver only supports 2D acceleration and isn't very optimized, but work is in progress for both optimized 2D as well as 3D which should improve the quality of TouchPad Linux greatly.
