This is a hardware demo that shows the capabilities of a LED controller chip we developed, capable of driving up to 10,000 LEDs in WS2812 packages. The controller takes USB or serial images as input, buffers them appropriately, and then performs the timing needed to drive the LED strands. The modules are at www.hypnocube.com.
