2 - How to change battery
3 - How to use Touch Controller
4 - How to use GeoTagging
5 - How to use Gesture Mode
6 - How to use FLIR UAS app
7 - How to mount on Inspire 1
for MAVLink GeoTagging:
1) Touch the Instructions button on the controller's home screen. You'll see the instructions
2) Make sure you have MAVLink selected within the FLIR UAS App - I think we already did it for you before we shipped out.
3) Install GPS correctly as above.
4) Turn everything on. Give them about 30 secs to boot up successfully.
5) On the Home Screen of Controller, Touch the MAVLink button. Make sure it's ON (not OFF)
6) Use the Picture Mode (I think we already set it up for you. If not use the FLIR UAS App)
7) Start taking pictures outside when satellites 7+
And the pictures will be geotagged with GPS coordinates, altitude.... The information can be read by Pix4D.
GESTURE MODE:
Turn on the Gesture mode on the controller
1) Gently swing the controller sideway 3-4 times will change color palettes.
2) Tilt the controller SLOWLY will tilt the gimbal.
3) Pan the controller SLOWLY will pan the gimbal
4) Tilt or Pan the controller QUICK enough will let you reset your positions (as sometimes, during tilting or panning, you will find yourself turning to the side or looking down to your feet). So you want to reset to normal posture by moving the controller quick enough to that posture. We tuned the parameters so you can do these with ease.
5) Move the controller up-and-down 5 times or more will start/stop recording.
6) When NOT in MAVLink, move controller back-to-front 3 times or more will do digital zoom. But because you use MAVLink, the Zoom function is disabled.
==========
1) Please, if you have not, watch the instructions for the VuIR Touch P4 for Phantom series. It's NOT meant to replace the instructions for VuIR Touch Pro, but it will give you very good ideas of your system, because the two shares quite a few common things. You can always skip ahead the parts that not applicable to yours.
Please see the table of contents right below the video so you'll see what to see and skip.
2) Now for Inspire 1 (is it correct?), please take a look at the 2 pictures attached. Basically you will attach the mount (included) at the back of the Inspire 1.
a) First use a Stare shape key to remove the 2 screws.
b) Then attached the mount using the 2 new screws included.
Then you are done. You now can attached the VuIR Touch Gimmera to the back of the Inspire 1.
NOTE: because the gimbal will get in the view of the Downward sensors. It's best to cover them up with some kind of electrical black tape so the Inspire 1 will not freak out.
3) How to attach the GPS sensor:
a) You can double sided tape it to the top of the Inspire 1 but do NOT attach it right on top of the DJI GPS itself, as it will block the signal to the DJI GPS. We find it's best to attach it to the top rear part of Inspire 1, right behind the battery.
b) Now you can insert the plug into the gimbal body. Remember that the RED wire is on TOP and the Green wire is at the Bottom. Plugging in the wrong way will not damage it, but it will not receive signal.
HOW DO YOU KNOW THE GPS IS WORKING:
1) When you turn it on, you will see the LED blinking
* Number of Satellites -3: RED-RED
* 3 - No. of Sats - 7: RED
* No. of Sats 7+: BLUE
(The Green blinking just means you have an SD card for GPS logging inserted)
2) On the Touch Screen Controller, you will see how many satellites connected on the top right corner.
IMPORTANT: The two batteries inside the Gimmera, when fully charged, will provide you with at least 30 min of run time. You will also see the battery indication on the Controller (top left corner). Always charge them up fully (maybe overnight).before using. So it's best to have multiple sets of batteries. (Contact Eric if you need more. The generic 9V batteries you find elsewhere will NOT likely to work as they do not have enough juice).
