Executive Summary:
Problem and Solution
In 2016, 1.6 million people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer and 600,000 will die from the disease. While 75% of patients are prescribed chemotherapy, up to 30% must discontinue treatment due to ineffectiveness or toxicity. Precision Nanotech believes this is a solvable problem. Our proprietary platform delivery technology, developed at the NIH, packages chemotherapeutics in a liposome that can be triggered by tissue penetrable near-infrared light. This allows for release of the drug specifically at the site of the tumor, decreasing systemic toxicity while increasing drug efficacy through higher localized dosage and improving patient quality of life.
Competition
Precision Nanotech’s liposomal technology is the only delivery system that is activatable by tissue penetrable near-infrared light. This provides an advantage over previously developed UV-activated liposomes and, unlike many other targeted delivery systems, it can be used for virtually any cancer type.
Market and Business Strategy
In 2015, over $100 billion was spent in the U.S. on developing cancer therapeutics. Precision Nanotech will penetrate this market by partnering with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to improve performance of new cancer therapeutics and potentially extend the product life of existing therapies. Due to the general lack of efficacy and debilitating toxicity of current therapeutics, we forecast that our technology will reduce treatment and hospital costs providing incentives to healthcare providers.
Using SBIR awards, venture capitalist funding, and strategic partnerships we plan to take our platform technology through preclinical studies and conduct clinical trials for FDA approval. We will outsource our manufacturing and conduct clinical trials through contract research organizations to optimize efficiency.
Management
Precision Nanotech was founded by a diverse team composed of cancer biologists, serial entrepreneurs, patent attorneys, financial analysts, and pharma executives. Our multidisciplinary team has over 100 years of scientific research experience as well as 60 years of experience in drug development, biotechnology, bioengineering, and clinical medicine securing over $16 million in dilutive and $5 million in non-dilutive capital in support of prior ventures. Precision Nanotech aims to deliver better therapy for cancer treatment to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
