Indiana University’s Dr. Franco Pestilli, a computational neuroscientist in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, leads a team of international researchers in the development of a new software, Linear Fascicle Evaluation (LiFE). The enormous amount of data generated by LiFE is processed by IU’s supercomputers to create 3D brain maps. Brain maps provide for a more precise diagnosis and individualized treatment for Alzheimer’s disease and many other disorders. In addition to IU’s supercomputers, Dr. Pestilli also utilizes Campus Bridging to connect to researchers all over the world as well as consulting to tune his code to run more efficiently for faster discovery.
