About IonGlass
IonGlass: next-generation, atomically-strengthened glass. Tempered glass screen protectors are strengthened through a simple heating and cooling process. IonGlass, however, is heat-treated through a chemical process that substitutes the sodium ions in the silicon dioxide network with larger diameter ions. This process is known as "ion exchange" and puts the glass in a constant state of compression. A stronger and more durable surface layer is thusly formed.
