Enjoy this Pro Street Drag Bike coverage as turbo charged Hayabusas, a Honda CBR and one incredibly fast, state of the art GSXR 1000 battle at the NHRA’s South Georgia Motorsports Park in Man Cup action. This class allows the competitors to use power adders and make major modifications but the equalizer is the DOT street tire. You can stretch the wheelbase quite a bit depending on your body weight but wheelie bars are not allowed. These high horsepower bikes have the ability to lift the front wheel at 200 mph! It takes a lot of skill and courage to do this.
The first racer we see down the track is Team Honda’s Frankie Stotz and his record smashing Honda CBR 1000. Stotz, of Schaumburg, Ill. was the second Pro Street Racer in the six second zone with a 6.99 in 2011. By the end of 2018 he had improved to a 6.601!
The next pair features the brand new GSXR 1000 of multi time champion Jeremy Teasley, of Columbus, Ohio. The big question is can this new 1000 build run with the Hayabusas and Hondas. We find out quickly with a 6.64 alongside Luis Hornedo of Orlando, Fla.
That brings up team DME’s Jason Dunigan of Jackson, MI on his Suzuki Hayabusa to battle the Busa of Sydney Marshall of Orlando, Fla. Chris Connelly Jr. of Brighton, MI is next up alongside Joel Olivo, of Kissimmee, Fla. Mike Kovacevich of Illinois comes up on his Ronnie Mitchell Racing Suzuki Hayabusa.
