Jessica Jones was born in Glamorgan, Wales, and started her professional singing career at the age of 18 with the group "The Birds 'n Bees", touring England and Europe. Following this she joined a German group, "The Travelling Band", who toured South Africa in 1970, and Jessica decided to stay. After singing with "Pleasure Machine" and appearing in stage productions such as "The Rocky Horror Show", "The Archon" and "I love my wife", she was signed to the Nitty Gritty label by Eric Smith. She had a number 1 hit on the South African Top 20 in 1972 with "Sunday, Monday, Tuesday", and also had a Top 20 hit with "Waikiki Man" in 1973.
This song was released on the LP "Sunday Monday Tuesday" in 1972. The 7" single release reached number 9 on the South African Top 20 in 1972, charting for 11 weeks.
